THE BRAND NEW 21 YEAR OLD INDUSTRY MAGAZINE
by Bob Dennis
This web magazine started as a printed publication, Engineer's Quarterly™, 21 years ago.  As we start our 8th year as a web publication, were incorporating a new look and a new posting schedule in an attempt to be the best and still maintain some kind of posting deadline.
PREPARING FOR THE HARVEST
By Bob Dennis
After a 5 year hiatus Bob decides to try for another bumper crop with a 2004 local Motorcity release for the music industry "harvest season" (Christmas sales).  How is he going to do it?
Step 1:  Making a Connection
Step 2:  Getting The Song Message
Step 3:  Tightening Up The Business
Step 4:  Planning For Success

Debut CD by Michigan Artist Showcases Persistence
By Frank Imani Jamal
Cornbread introduces you a Motorcity artist with the talent and connections to reap a hit record harvest this year.  Dave Newland became convinced that the Detroit-area had more to offer musically than his Ohio town.  Traveling to the suburban Detroit city of Warren, Michigan he recorded at the Recording Institute of Detroit for two years it took to complete his solo CD, “For Sale.”  Reaction to “For Sale” has been overwhelmingly positive with one tune,  “Loveless,” garnering the most praise.

RID PRODUCTION SCHOOL FORUM

Learning Music Production On The Web
By Bob Dennis
With thousands of online students studying theory on the web for half a decade, The Recording Institute of Detroit's founder now teaches students a complete course in production techniques entirely over the web.  Theory assignments are completed with study modules, testing is done on an online testing center and practical assignments are done and corrected via web posting.

Who The Heck Is Bob Dennis Anyway?
If you're a regular reader or even if you have seen only one issue, you will see this name, Bob Dennis, as a reoccurring credit on articles and tips.  In response of constant requests, Bob recounts his long and colorful career in Music & Recording, including projects and releases he has worked on. Bob calls it "40 Years and Counting."

FrankG Is Back, Bolder & Bigger - Remember Him?
Always outspoken and thought-provoking if you can get him talking.  We've got him talking about the things that are on his mind (and perhaps should be on yours).  In his all-new "Link Of The Week" feature (which doesn't necessarily post every week) Frank has recently concentrated on the ills of our beloved industry as the big music monopolies try to avoid an almost-certain death-bed.
Music Industry Hazards
Introduction by Bob Dennis. Using the worldwide web is essential if you want to gain success in the music industry.  But travel on the Internet is not without it's hazards.  For this issue, Dan Dennis helps travel the road safely.
Spyware, Trojans, Adware
A computer Maintenance Article By Dan Dennis.
My computer is SO SLOW - an all too common complaint. A person buys a computer, begins using it, and all of a sudden it runs like a car with a broken cylinder.  What to do?
Adjusting The Room
An answer to a music recording studio design question
by Bob Dennis
Question: I am close to being done with my studio now and I have the foam. I was wondering how you recommend I put it up for recording drums and other instruments?
